Green Inheritance is an educational responsive website and app for social good. The main objective of this website is to inform users of all ages about generational climate change by region. This website encourages action through education and donations all in one place.

User Research

The data acquired on generational climate change for Green Inheritance was used to develop interview questions, which were then used to conduct interviews. Participants were mostly clueless about details on climate change and how it affected the earth throughout the decades. The research made it clear that users were interested in changing the trajectory of climate change with an adequate educational resource to help guide them.

Wireframes

I began this project with wireframing and creating the app's low-fidelity prototype which is linked below. With experience from previous projects, I used Adobe XD to refine my designs with more creative elements. After conducting the usability study, the high-fidelity prototype was rendered with the insight in mind.

Prototypes

I used the results of the usability study conducted to be sure the high-fidelity prototype included accessibility and language options to accommodate as many people as possible.

With the app designs completed, I began working on the designs of the responsive website. I used the Green Inheritance sitemap to guide the organizational structure of each screen’s design to ensure a cohesive, seamless experience across devices.

Final Project and takewayS

From the app, the website was then created. It was important to have the website be responsive while adapting to several different screen sizes. At the end of the project, I learned about new design concepts, an understanding of creating a more dynamic website, and the importance of compartmentalizing the enormity of a major social issue. Green Inhertiance's next steps are to use the initiative to organize clean-ups around the world and collaborate with universities and schools to educate the youth.
