User Research
I conducted interviews and empathy maps to understand the variety of users who would be interested and/or curious about ArTours. With a primary user group identified through research, I tested the usability, ease, and enjoyability of the ArTours App, specifically focusing on core tasks such as searchability, artist information, and how interactive the app is.

This user group confirmed that many busy individuals find it difficult to explore their interests in art while maintaining a work-life balance. Research also indicated that many users were experiencing a form of visual or hearing impairment, a language barrier, and/or a learning impairment that affected their ability to learn and enjoy the art local galleries have to offer.

Wireframes
I began by creating paper wireframes. Those wireframes became a low-fidelity prototype, that can be viewed with the link below, which was then tested with a usability study. After gathering insight from the results, I iterated on my designs and created a high-fidelity prototype.

Prototypes
The final result was a unique app that promoted leisure, learning, and convenience for people of all ages who are interested in learning about local art galleries.

The first and second usability studies emphasized users wanting more accessibility. I ensured that there were as many accessibility options so a wide range of users could access the ArTours app.

Takeaways
Creating this app helped me learn that while a designer is working on making a unique app, universal app standards are important to build familiarity and a seamless user experience. My next steps for the future of ArTours are to include more languages and collaborate with galleries for better access. View the full case study below.
