Intro
Artsie is a website is a video and step-by-step art tutorial website catering to all skill levels. Whether the user is a beginner or a master artist, the goal of this website is to compile a variety of tutorials to promote curious learning and also foster a community of artists interacting and sharing knowledge with each other.

USer Research
I conducted user interviews, which then turned to empathy maps to have a better understanding of the target user and their needs. I uncovered that many users were curious about learning art techniques but did not know where to begin. Users felt overwhelmed which deterred them from completing the task due to intimidation or frustration. Thus, associating the learning experience with confusion instead of wonder.
Sitemap
The main pain point was finding a website that was tailored to the users’ skill level. I used this knowledge to create a sitemap.
My goal was to create strategic information architecture decisions that would be clear and concise to allow users to choose while fostering a community of their own.
Wireframes
I began the project by facilitating the need for a website of this sort with a competitive audit. After analyzing the data, I drew some paper wireframes, and finalized a format that fit the criteria, while drawing up a responsive design for mobile. I then created a low-fidelity prototype and conducted a usability study which led to the first mockups.

I created a low-fidelity prototype, which can be viewed below, that followed a simple user flow. These mockups then led to high-fidelity prototypes with a focus on video tutorials, step-by-step art tutorials, an interactive community, and a way for members to gather for networking events.

Final PRoject and Takeaways
The final product is an all-in-one stop where potential and talented creatives congregate to share ideas, community, and their knowledge with user-created videos and step-by-step art tutorials. This project helped me learn about Adobe XD and its endless design possibilities. The next step for Artsie is to collaborate with universities and certified instructors to create certificate programs. View the full case study below.
