My name is Melissa St-Jean and I was born and raised in Miami, FL as a first-generation Haitian-American. I've been drawing since I could pick up a pencil and painting for a decade. Painting is more than a hobby for me. It’s a means of self-expression and a glimpse into the inner workings of my mind.

As a small child, I was extremely imaginative and inquisitive. Art class was always my favorite and I excelled in it. I remember spending afternoons watching Bob Ross and be in awe of how he was able to create a beautiful masterpiece with his hands. I wanted to do that but I couldn't fathom how to create such magic. Creating drawings was my activity of choice. I drew in class, on my notes, on my homework, in textbooks. If I had a writing utensil and a surface, I was drawing on it.

MeliPaints is a visual arts company established in 2018 with the purpose of bringing complex ideas to fruition. My mission is to create phenomenal, unique art that will become keepsakes for generations to come. In addition to painting my inspirations, my fans and clientele seek me out for their own custom art. In this past decade of creation, my work has become inclusive of drawings, logos, oil & acrylic paintings, and even painting classes.
